Westley Richards, the iconic Birmingham based gunmakers, held an event at its Pritchett Street showroom and factory recently to celebrate the launch of its new partnership with Orvis.
The ‘Orvis Residency’ will run for three months, including the Christmas period, at the Westley Richards store in Birmingham’s Gun Quarter.
Founded in 1812, Westley Richards is an industry leader in high-end gun making, having built an unrivalled reputation as one of the finest engravers and embellishers of guns and rifles in the world.
Orvis is the oldest fly fishing company in the world, able to boast a 150-year history of being at the forefront of cutting-edge flyrod technology. The brand complements Westley Richards perfectly as both share a distinguished heritage in country sports.
Amongst the selection of fine guns and accessories on display, Orvis is showcasing a range of fishing and luxury dog accessories.
Anthony Alborough-Tregear, managing director of Westley Richards said: “It is a great pleasure to welcome Orvis UK for their three-month residency. Launched in fine style with our friends at Bentley Motors, many of our customers enjoyed the chance to refine their fly fishing techniques with Orvis’ top fishing specialists.”
Brian Campbell-Kearsey, head of marketing at Orvis UK said: “It was fantastic to meet so many people who share a mutual passion for fly fishing at the launch of our Residency at Westley Richards on Friday 20th September. The synergy between our handmade rods and the high art guns at Westley Richards proved an irresistible draw and we are delighted to have both of these collections in store from now through to Christmas for anyone to visit.”
The Westley Richards shop is open 9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
