Smart homes are rapidly becoming the norm, as we integrate more tech into our daily routines. One prominent addition is the robot vacuum cleaner. Far from being just a simple floor sweeper, the newly released Eufy Omni E28 not only vacuums and mops, but it also incorporates another bold innovation: the FlexiOne portable deep clean unit, adding powerful targeted stain removal to the already impressive repertoire.

This compelling proposition comes with a premium price tag, so we put it to the test to see if it is worthy of its place in the cleaning lineup of a modern home.
Eufy Omni E28: What is it?
Eufy is a name that is synonymous with intuitive home tech and devices, and the Omni E28 is its most versatile vacuum option yet. The 3-in-1 cleaning system combines a powerful 20,000 Pa suction robovac — more than double the power of the X10 Omni — with a HydroJet roller mop and a removable handheld deep cleaning unit, all based around a central hub.

Unboxing the Omni E28 is straightforward. With all the packaging and stickers removed, you’re left with a robust yet neat design. It might not be the sleekest on the market, but for a 3-in-1 system, it’s surprisingly space-efficient. The robot vacuum docks into the base station, and the FlexiOne deep clean unit, which incorporates the clean and dirty water tanks and a nozzle and hose, sits on top.
Assembling everything is intuitive, and once the robot vacuum is pushed correctly into the dock, it will start to charge. The next step is to download the Eufy app on your smart device and connect the robot to the Wi-Fi. With step-by-step instructions through the app, the whole process is extremely simple.
Once you’re connected and the vacuum is charged, you can send it off to begin mapping the layout of your home using its built-in AI-driven navigation. It might take a few runs to perfect the mapping, but the Omni E28 will fine-tune as it goes.
How does it work?
With the basics of your home mapped, you can put the Omni E28 to work using the Eufy app. Select a whole home clean or an individual room, and the robot vacuum will head off to vacuum or wash the floors, depending on what you’ve selected. Edge cleaning is bolstered by the CornerRover Arm, ensuring nothing is left behind along skirting boards or in tricky alcoves. The DuoSpiral brushes help to prevent hair entanglement while the robot vacuum does its job, reducing maintenance and ensuring uncompromised cleaning.

We tested it over different surfaces and found that the Omni E28 adjusted the suction and mop pressure as needed to give the best clean for each surface. Spills on the tiled kitchen floor were dealt with by the roller mop in a single pass, leaving no sticky residue or damp trails, and leaving the floor looking immaculate.
Noise levels do spike during mop-cleaning and dust disposal cycles, but only briefly — a worthwhile trade-off for the otherwise hands-free operation.
As a combined vacuum and mop, the Omni E28 is far from unique in the market, with rivals like the Deebot X8 Pro Omni and Roomba Combi i8 doing much the same job. What separates it from rivals is the addition of the FlexiOne portable deep cleaner. The unit detaches from the base for spot stain removal — think red wine spills on carpets or muddy paw prints on the sofa.

To test this, we headed to the well-trodden stairs. Here, the FlexiOne excelled. Without the addition of stain remover, it managed to lift embedded marks with a mix of pressurised water and suction. It’s by no means a lightweight bit of kit and using it on the stairs takes a little manoeuvering, but the results were certainly worthy of the effort.
Eufy Omni E28: The verdict
The key to a successful smart home must surely be ease, and by this measure, the Eufy Omni E28 delivers. In a busy house, you don’t want to spend your evening vacuuming or scrubbing the kitchen floor, but with the Omni E28 at your fingertips, it’s taken care of while you relax — all the cleaning and none of the fuss.

At £999
, the price tag might make you think twice, but the sheer versatility of the E28 means that it will easily earn its keep. Its powerful cleaning, adaptable tech, and smart design make it worthy of its premium price tag. For households juggling pets, kids, and chaos, this is one gadget that genuinely lightens the load, making it more than a luxury — it’s a time-saving essential.
