NG Phaselis Bay Hotel Review: A Real Turkish Delight

We’re travelling when we can now, taking every opportunity to explore new regions and hotels, and there are few more appealing than the NG Phaselis Bay. This new five-star all-inclusive hotel might just make for the perfect luxury Turkish getaway, says Tyler Heatley.

The NG Phaselis Bay, located around 50 minutes from Antalya airport, resides in a secluded area that overlooks the natural bay and the Mediterranean sea. Forget about hiring a car and making your own way there, though; you can be whisked from your flight to the hotel in true VIP style via a customised Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, complete with reclining leather seats and TV, via a service organised by the hotel itself.

Upon arrival at the impressive stone-clad building, you are greeted by immaculately dressed staff waiting to help with luggage. However, before you even think about checking in, chilled Champagne from a permanently manned bar christens your entrance. You are invited to a complimentary glass almost every time you walk past, making for a lavish welcome after venturing outside.

The atrium is a vast space with floor-to-ceiling windows stretching up several floors. Highly polished floors and a botanical theme create an oasis-like environment that offers refreshing refuge from the humidity outside.

They say first impressions are important, and NG Phaselis Bay does not disappoint.

NG Phaselis Bay: The Rooms

There are several different room choices on offer at NG Phaselis Bay, including opulent villas with private gardens and a butler. That was a step up from our room, a Deluxe room (one step up from Superior) that is part of the main complex. It’s made up of a high-roofed bedroom complete with lounging space positioned close to large glass sliding doors. The glazing opens to reveal a balcony area overlooking the pools, and the bay with the bold blue sea stretching to the horizon.

The room itself takes a minimalist approach, but neat furnishings, a modern ethos and choice materials promote a sense of quality. A large smart TV is wall-mounted and provides access to reception, entertainment, and the option of streaming content from a smart device to its larger screen. The enormous king-size bed is inviting with its vast real estate and plump pillows. You’ll also find other amenities such as a well-stocked minibar, plenty of wardrobe space and a safe for valuables.

Enter the bathroom – another large space – to find a his-and-hers sink. Below the softly glowing lights and generous mirror is an array of scented lotions and potions. Two sets of privacy doors open onto toilet facilities and, next door, a spacious rainforest shower.

This Deluxe room is a relaxed space that’s perfect to retire to after a day of adventure but, should you need the room to double as a casual workspace, a strong internet connection is at your command as well as an idyllic backdrop from the balcony to remind video-calling colleagues what they are missing out on. Regardless of whether you’re using the room for work or play, it was meticulously tended to by housekeeping with nice touches such as petals or amusing towel animals set on the bed.

There’s a lot to like about this space.

NG Phaselis Bay: The Facilities

It’s not just the room that impresses. The hotel boasts over 900 metres of private beaches that lead into clear calm waters. There are ample loungers surrounding infinity pools and staff that are only too willing to deliver you anything from a morning espresso to a tropical cocktail.

For an additional cost, you can procure a cabana with an ocean view and plenty of cocktails or Champagne. These are perfect shaded spots for socialising and feature handy items such as phone charging ports and their own refrigerators.

While I spent more time extensively testing the bars as opposed to the gym, both are well equipped for your chosen activity. Those not sipping a margarita might also be interested in the ocean-view yoga classes that you can enjoy. On the subject of true relaxation, the hotel’s spa facilitates massages capable of alleviating any stresses you may have brought with you – and I brought a lot of it to deal with.

More casual extracurricular activities can be found such as table tennis and, for younger children, there’s the Beluga kids club with games rooms, a water park, and various creative activities.

NG Phaselis Bay: The Food

There is a huge amount of choice when it comes to dining. For breakfast and lunch, I enjoyed the open buffet-style restaurant – although to call it a buffet doesn’t really do it justice. Within this large open space are essentially several kitchens continuously cooking an enormous choice of food, from delicate patisseries and fresh bread to pasta dishes and succulent meats. Variety truly is the spice of life for guests here.

There are also plenty of snack bars dotted around to ensure a light bite is never far away, whatever the time of day. The Green detox bar serves healthy drinks in a spa-like environment, while the Verde lounge acts as a regular hotel lobby bar, serving drinks 24 hours a day. If you’ve ventured down to the waterfront, the Beach Snack restaurant keeps the holiday vibes going. There’s also a sophisticated cocktail bar and even a patisserie for sweet treats.

In the evenings, I sampled several of the six a la carte restaurants. If you want to experience some Turkish dishes, Phrygia, with its clay potted specialities, is well worth trying out. Love red meat? The Chef Steak restaurant is a must, where you’ll find not just great food but impressive displays of leaping flames as dinner is cooked. For those who prefer fish, the Scallops seafood restaurant should be on your list.

The sheer range of options means you can be as sophisticated or relaxed as you want, either enjoying a lengthy evening dinner, sampling the finest local delights and savouring fine wine and extravagant cocktails. Or you can have a burger. Even then, it’s a spectacularly good burger. Seriously, finding fault with any of the food or drink is difficult, with even the slightest issue feeling like nitpicking for the sake of it.

NG Phaselis Bay: The Verdict

People go on holiday for different reasons. Some are in search of adventure and run off to skydive or jump a dune buggy through the air, while many of us just want to relax and forget about the stresses of modern life. If you’re in the latter camp, NG Phaselis Bay is a great choice for an indulgent getaway where you are catered for from start to finish.

The facilities are a delight and offer something for everyone, especially when it comes to dining. This hotel’s communal spaces are kept immaculately clean, while the staff are very friendly and only too happy to help.

NG Phaselis Bay

Our package totalled around £450 per night, and that grants you access to a modern luxury hotel in a secluded spot, with service, quality and food that, if not quite second to none, is right up there with the best hotels anywhere in the world.

If your goal is to come home rejuvenated, this hotel is an absolute Turkish delight.
