Esteemed cognac house Delamain is launching a new Cellar Dining Experience, which will see guests exploring fine cognacs in a truly unique setting.
The House of Delamain has been producing Grande Champagne — cognac’s finest cru — since 1824, using traditional methods that have been perfected over nine generations. They carefully guide elegant and delicate eaux-de-vie through their historic cellars to create exquisite Cognac in the same way it has for centuries.
Delamain’s Cellar Dining Experience is the first of its kind and has been introduced as part of Explore Cognac
, an initiative to raise the profile of the region and its distinguished distilling heritage. The experience will give guests the opportunity to sample cognacs paired with regional gastronomic specialities, prepared by a private chef and served amongst some of Delamain’s rarest cognacs in its principal cellar. Visits will be exclusive, with each experience limited to just eight guests, and will begin with a private, after-hours tour of the Delamain cellars, before being seated to dine.

During the meal, guests can relax, and surrounded by one-of-a-kind bottles of cognac that date back to the 19th century, absorb the wonderful spirit-filled atmosphere of the ancient cellar while experiencing Delamain’s limited edition Pléiade Grande Champagne cognacs
. The collection, made up of single-cask, vintage, and exceptionally old cognacs, will be paired perfectly with foods which will extract the best flavours from the spirits, highlighting the versatility and complexity of mature cognacs in a gastronomic context.
Charles Braastad, Delamain’s managing director and direct descendant of founder James Delamain, commented: “We are very excited to have this opportunity to welcome guests into the heart of our cellars and into the heart of a culture deeply rooted in the natural gifts of a special terroir; to share the highest expression of our craft in what we believe is an optimal environment for exploring and appreciating the sensory wonders of beautiful old cognacs.”
Delamain wants the experience to be intimate and exclusive, so initially it doesn’t anticipate more than 12 bookings being made available in the first season, with each visit being meticulously planned and personalised for each group.
