Brunch menus are proving popular with diners, and the choice of venue is growing, but why not add some Asian spice to your weekend? East London-based Izakaya bar and restaurant Apothecary East is launching a new seasonal Sakura Highball Brunch.
Apothecary East
, which describes itself as a Tokyo-inspired tavern with Shoreditch energy, has created a brunch menu to celebrate the Japanese tradition of outdoor parties and picnics, along with Highball cocktails – perfect for sipping and pairing with food.
The Sakura Highball Brunch menu, which starts from £35 per person, will be served on Saturdays from midday until 4pm.
Apothecary East offers a range of dining areas for parties of all sizes, and guests can enjoy brunch with friends in the dining room, on a high table or in the bar. The brunch menu features a selection of the restaurant’s most popular signature dishes, including black sesame cauliflower, karaage fried chicken and spicy salmon sushi rolls.

For drinks, the bar team at Apothecary East has crafted a selection of three contemporary classic Highballs with Japanese elements. Sakura Hai is a bourbon-based cocktail, Yuzu Gin-Gin is a Kiyoko craft yuzu infusion with gin, and Violet Spring incorporates Ginjo sake to create a fresh, vibrant cocktail. Diners can choose to order their highballs individually or go with the option of bottomless highballs, prosecco and bloody Marys for £27.50 per person.
Located on Charlotte Road, Apothecary East is a short walk from Old Street, Liverpool Street and Shoreditch High Street stations. While walk-in drinkers and diners are, of course, welcome, booking for the Sakura Highball Brunch is highly recommended.
Apothecary East’s Sakura Highball Brunch is available to book on Saturdays from 12pm to 2.30pm. Guests will have tables for two hours, and free-flowing drinks will be served for 1.5 hours.
