Royal Celebration That Warrants a Treat at the Bollinger Burlington Bar

To celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, Champagne Bollinger is launching its Afternoon Treat menu, available exclusively at The Bollinger Burlington Bar in Mayfair, London.

The special menu — Bollinger’s take on the quintessentially British afternoon tea — has been created in collaboration with patisserie chef Didier Merveilleux, who, like Bollinger, is also a Royal Warrant holder.

Merveilleux has created some exclusive delicacies for the occasion, including mini peach and vanilla tart, mini strawberry choux craquelin and passion yuzu macaron, all of which will be paired with a glass of Bollinger’s signature Special Cuvée. The patisseries feature edible decorations, including golden crowns and Coronation emblems, in keeping with the theme, as well as the Champagne Bollinger blazon. The Afternoon Treat menu will be served on tableware from Thomas Goode & Co., the preferred purveyor of exclusive luxury goods to the Royal Household, adding that extra touch of royal luxury.

Visitors to the Bollinger Burlington Bar will also be able to view the first commissioned portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) scholar Alastair Barford. The portrait was commissioned by Illustrated London News, co-hosts of the Coronation event, and appears on the cover of its “The Illustrated Coronation Edition.”

King Charles III’s portrait is being showcased exclusively in the Bar’s window and on a collector’s edition menu, which will be available throughout the Coronation period. Guests will also be able to view the collection of Coronation installations in the Arcade and Bollinger’s historical Royal Warrant certifications.

Victoria Carfantan, director of Champagne Bollinger, says: “As a Royal Warrant holder since 1884, Champagne Bollinger looks forward to welcoming guests to The Bollinger Burlington Bar to raise a toast to His Majesty King Charles III, to celebrate his Coronation and to indulge in the Champagne Bollinger Coronation Afternoon Treat, a true one-off experience, created by Royal Warrant patisserie chef Didier Merveilleux.”

The Bollinger Afternoon Treat Menu will be exclusively available at The Bollinger Burlington Bar from 27 April to 14 May, priced at £125 per person. For each Afternoon Treat Menu sold, Bollinger will be donating to QEST in recognition of their work in supporting excellence in British craftsmanship.
