Ready for the summer festival season, Skoda has created a one-off Enyaq iV electric camper. With a boot-mounted camping box with an extendable bed, luxury roof tent, and campsite extras to provide zero-emission accommodation for festivals and camping getaways, the Enyaq iV FestEVal could be the perfect transport for eco-friendly outdoor adventures.
Built around a standard pure-electric Enyaq iV SUV, the one-off FestEVal has an entire camping unit built into the boot. Made by Czech manufacturer, EGOE, the Enyaq’s 585-litre boot is filled with a special box that slides out of the car and has an integrated gas cooker, a collapsible sink with tap and hose, a preparation area and ample storage all included within.
The flexibility and design of the unit allow the rear seats to still be usable on the move, and when parked up at the campsite, it provides one of two sleeping areas in the FestEVal.
The double bed frame can be put together in minutes, extending across the folded rear seats. The mattress cushions store on top of the box and provide comfortable in-car accommodation for two.
The second sleeping space is in the streamlined roof tent. Offering premium sleeping quarters in a practical package, the accommodation is accessed via a ladder stored inside the tent box when closed. The tent can be set up and taken down in a matter of minutes, and has netting inside for storage, a solar-powered fan and an integrated torch.
Space-saving camping chairs and a table are set up and collapsed within seconds, ready for use as soon as campers arrive onsite. After the music has stopped onstage, campers can continue the party through the Enyaq’s eight-speaker sound system, while interior ambient lighting provides additional atmosphere into the evenings.
The Skoda Enyaq iV
The basis of the festival-friendly camper is the Skoda Enyaq iV. This family car promises class-leading interior space with up to 585 litres of luggage capacity.
Driven by a powerful electric motor, the Enyaq iV can run for up to 338 miles on a charge. The 82kWh battery pack can be topped up at speeds of up to 135kW, which means a charge from empty to 80% (or an extra 270 miles of range) can be completed within half an hour.
Prices for the Skoda Enyaq iV start from £42,435
, with multiple battery sizes, power outputs and trim levels meaning there should be a model for everybody. Sadly, none of them is the FestEVal, which remains a one-off build to demonstrate the flexibility of the Skoda EV.
