A new series of limited-edition whiskies, The Dalmore Distillery Select Series, has been released by the Highland single malt whisky distillery, with 2024 seeing the first three in the series of these sought-after expressions. The collection features very rare spirits laid down in hand-selected casks by The Dalmore’s whisky makers.
“Each of these limited edition whiskies was picked out by our whisky makers for the way the casks have complemented or enhanced The Dalmore’s signature house style,” said brand director Rod Gillies. “These hidden gems from our dunnage warehouses will be available directly from The Dalmore – either from our boutiques, at the distillery or online for a limited period in the UK.”
The Dalmore Distillery Select 2009 Vintage
Sherry Cask Finish (2024 Bottling)

This 15 Year Old Single Malt is limited to just 2736 bottles. It has been finished in exceptionally rare vintage sherry casks sourced from the Spanish winemaker González Byass. Distilled in 2009, the whisky is bottled at 52.8%, allowing the antique vintage sherry characteristics to take centre stage.
On the nose: Manuka honey, a hint of cinnamon, banana bread
On the palate: Orchard fruits, Golden Delicious apples, poached pears, sweet melon
The finish: Sultanas, liquorice, mandarin orange and a touch of cacao
The Dalmore Distillery Select 2007
Amarone and Port Cask finishes (2024 Bottling)

This 17 Year Old Single Malt, distilled in 2007, is limited to 918 bottles. It was finished in a duo of casks from Italian and Portuguese winemakers, whose influence fascinated The Dalmore’s whisky makers. The marriage of each component has created a unique Single Malt Scotch whisky expressing Portuguese and Italian influences. Bottled at 45.8%, it has been selected by the whisky makers for the complexity of its flavours.
On the nose: Warm summer fruits, raspberry myrtle, succulent Victoria plums and maraschino cherry
On the palate: Rich forest fruits interlaced with vanilla
The finish: Panna cotta, floral notes and a hint of violet
The Dalmore Distillery Select 2000 Vintage
Calvados Finish (2024 Bottling)

This 24 Year Old Single Malt Whisky, distilled in 2000, is the most rare of the series so far, with just 383 bottles being released. It was bottled at 50.3% strength to ensure the antique flavour characteristics of this very rare whisky shine through. First matured in American white oak to allow the spirit to settle and soften, it was finished in hand-selected Vintage Calvados casks sourced from the House of Drouin, France.
On the nose: A dusting of sugared almonds, rich apple and plum
On the palate: Red berries, freshly crushed apple and pear
The finish: Liquorice, antique wood spice and a touch of balsamic
The Dalmore Distillery Select Series is set to fascinate whisky collectors and connoisseurs. Each release in the series will be strictly limited in volume, is natural in colour and non-chill filtered. The 2024 release is exclusively in the UK via The Dalmore website and in The Dalmore Boutiques now open in Madrid, Spain, Manila in the Philippines and Phnom Penh in Cambodia.
