Do you need a watch for every occasion? Graham Watchmakers think so, which explains why there’s now a limited Día de Muetros edition of its famous Chronofighter Vintage watch.
Revised time and time again since its launch in 2001, the Chronofighter series constantly renews but never lets the vintage style fade into the background. Through pin-up decorations, large 47mm formats, lightweight carbon cases and even pulsometers, the timeless quality of the design has shone through.
The latest limited edition takes all that makes the Chronofighter Vintage so accessible, from its 44mm aged-steel case and grey PVD start/stop trigger, through the domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and 100m water resistance, and adds some distinctive style to the mix.
It starts with a bone-shaped 12 numeral coated with white Super-LumiNova to ensure easy visibility at night. The day and date can be found at the 9, but the highlight is the colourful painted Calavera skull at 6. Inspired by celebrations of the Mexican festival, Dia de Muertos – or Day of the Dead.
Rhodium hands coated with white Super-LumiNova show the time, while the chrono hand is highlighted in red. There’s a black rubber mesh pattern to the strap, with a titanium pin buckle.
Production is limited to just 25 pieces, with prices online from around £3,800. There’s still time to get one ahead of the Day of the Dead celebrations on 2 November. Perhaps that’ll be a good day to raise a glass to ‘Honest’ George Graham, the watchmaker’s founder, who died in 1751.
