Film aficionados have long been travelling the globe to visit the sites they have seen on screen, and it’s a trend that SevenTravel believe is set to grow. To accommodate the trend of set-jetting as it has become known, SevenTravel has compiled its own unique adventure trips to allow movie lovers to follow in the footsteps of the intrepid archaeologist Indiana Jones.
To celebrate the release of the fifth and final instalment of the Indiana Jones film franchise on June 30th 2023, luxury travel company SevenTravel has crafted bespoke set-jetting itineraries spanning movie locations of each of the five iconic films.

In 1981, Raiders of the Lost Ark opened our eyes to the wonders of Egypt, where we watched the Nazis searching for the Ark of the Covenant with Indy in hot pursuit. More than 40 years later, travellers still hold a love affair with the destination, a country where ancient and modern combine.
This adventure begins in Cairo, where guests can spend their days sampling the local cuisine and wandering the mediaeval Citadel and the Ottoman-style Alabaster Mosque before taking in the scenery. From here, visitors will travel to Aswan to board the Amirat Dahabiya cruise for a seven-night deluxe boat journey along the Nile.
In 1984, Temple of Doom took Indiana Jones to a northern Indian village and into a battle with the Thuggee cult at Pankot Palace. In homage, this trip offers travellers the opportunity to visit beautiful parts of Northern India and take in breathtaking vistas from this blockbuster movie.
The twelve-day journey heads off the beaten path in the various religions of India and explores echoes of the Raj with a visit to the colonial town of Shimla. As no visit to India would be complete without a trip to Delhi, SevenTravel’s itinerary includes three nights to explore the city. A rickshaw tour with a local guide gives guests a glimpse of its historic havelis, temples, palaces, shrines and bazaars before concluding at Raj Ghat.
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008 saw Dr Jones in Peru, with the Peruvian Amazon playing a large part in the film. The itinerary for this trip offers beautiful hotels, spectacular scenery and jungle ruins, and the chance to uncover the Sacred Valley treasures that Indiana Jones would be proud of.
Travellers can also wander through bohemian neighbourhoods, take in colonial architecture and enjoy the eclectic cuisine of Peru’s capital, Lima and the UNESCO-listed Old Town. A four-night cruise along the Amazon River provides opportunities to spot wildlife like iguanas, macaws, sloths and monkeys and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
While plot details surrounding Indiana Jones And The Dial of Destiny have been kept well under wraps, it is known that Sicily is the backdrop to parts of the film. A key filming destination is Cefalù, known for its web of mediaeval streets and the intricately decorated Byzantine mosaics within its Norman cathedral.
The trip takes in the coastal town of Syracuse, which is famous for its architecture, before moving onto the renowned Valley of the Temples, the UNESCO World Heritage site, which displays some of the finest examples of Doric temples in the world.
