As we head towards International Margarita Day — celebrated on 22 February, just in case it isn’t already in your diary — Patrón tequila is teaming up with two-Michelin-starred chef Tom Sellers and opening the doors to an authentic taste of Mexico’s famous ‘Cantina’ culture.
The collaboration will see ‘La Cantina de Margarita’ setting up shop within several London-based cocktail bars, including One Hundred Shoreditch
, Satan’s Whiskers
and Silverleaf
. Guests experience a set of complementary botanas — traditional small plates of Mexican food — paired with Patrón Margaritas.

“Inspired by the ultra-smooth taste and vibrant aromatic notes of agave in Patrón Silver, ‘La Cantina de Margarita’ will celebrate International Margarita Day through the lens of Mexican cantina culture,” said Tom Sellers, chef patron of Restaurant Story. “Craftsmanship and passion is at the heart of everything we do at Restaurant Story, and we’re bringing this commitment to telling authentic Mexican narratives with Patrón.”
The exclusive menu created by Sellers, who achieved his first Michelin star aged 26, will feature dishes that evoke and complement the flavour profile of the iconic Margarita cocktail. From fresh corn taco with lobster and Patrón Silver gel through to sweet potato and orange camotes (a traditional Mexican sweet with bitter orange notes), each botana has been handcrafted, and ingredients selected to ensure freshness and balance in every bite.
“Patrón champions bold innovators who tirelessly perfect their craft. Working with Tom Sellers has enabled us to create an authentic celebration this International Margarita Day, ‘La Cantina de Margarita'”, said Claire Presland, Patrón brand director for Europe. “Tom is dedicated to being at the very top of his industry — from innovating menus that transport guests to another place, through to his passion and dedication for hand-made excellence, Tom pairs with Patrón’s values of perfection which highlights the passion and mastery that goes into making every drop of Patrón tequila.”

The first service is set to begin on Wednesday, 15 February, at Silverleaf in Pan Pacific, followed on Thursday, 16 February, at The Rooftop, One Hundred Shoreditch. Satan’s Whiskers service is on 20 February, just in time to celebrate International Margarita Day. ‘La Cantina de Margarita’ by Patrón will only be around for a fortnight, so if you want to experience a slice of Mexico, book ahead to avoid disappointment.
Make a classic Margarita at home by combining 50ml of tequila with 25ml of fresh lime juice, 20ml of orange liqueur and 5ml of agave syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds and pour straight into a chilled glass. Garnish with a slice of lime, and enjoy.
