Purdey’s new Trigger Plate shotgun blends modern manufacturing techniques with traditional hand crafted skills.

British shooting has seen an increase in the prominence of higher birds and heavier cartridges, and Purdey’s newest shotgun reflects these challenging conditions.

Made entirely in the company’s London workshop, Purdey’s Trigger Plate over-and-under shotgun blends modern manufacturing techniques with the heritage of traditional hand crafted skills, with no piece of the gun left untouched by the human hand.

The Purdey Trigger Plate is designed specifically for the rigours of modern cartridges, particularly the additional stresses of steel and heavy lead loads. Over 150,000 shots were fired as part of its testing, to ensure that it meets the needs of today’s sporting world. The trigger plate mechanism is simple, elegant and robust, and it’s also easily removed, making it easy to clean and providing greater security when traveling.

It’s offered as a fully bespoke gun with the company’s customary range of options, including barrel length, chamber length, choke configuration, stock dimensions, engraving and case finish. These allow you to build a well-fitted gun, suited to both you and your style of shooting.

Purdey has been manufacturing quality shotguns and rifles for more than 200 years, and the Trigger Plate takes its impressive heritage yet another step further. The combination gunmakers’ skill, and modern technology, give a classically elegant shotgun with modern-day strength.
